John Robbins Burkett was the son of E.M. Burkett and Abbe Burkett (charter members of Post 77 and Unit 77). Captain John R. Burkett, 90th Division, 1st Battalion, 359th Infantry,was a WWI veteran who was killed in action during an operation along the Muese.
